The Case of the Scaredy Cats by Crosby Bonsall
Crosby Bonsall has done it again with her "Wizard Gang". Her style of writing captures the imagination and friendship of all the children who read her books. This book especially highlights the differences between the boys and girls and how children resolve those differences. The second graders couldn't put the book down!!!! We laughed and had fun reading this remarkable book.

Celibacy: Means of Control or Mandate of the Heart?
Published in Paperback by Ave Maria Press (March, 1996)
Author: Michael H. Crosby
Average review score:

A RC priest speaks honestly on sexuality and celibacy
Michael Crosby has written many books, but this one is my favorite. He courageously and honestly addresses the hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic Church in forcing celibacy on its priests as a means of control, rather than "for the kingdom of God". He exposes the contradictions in the Vatican's attempts to justify this practice theologically and gives a scripturally and psychologically sound argument for the abolition of mandatory celibacy. He also addresses the failure of the Church to even speak of homosexuality among its clergy, much less to deal with this issue. His position is taken as one who loves the Church and wants to help mend this powerful institution. Many will not like this book, but no one can refute it without resorting to denial. I strongly recommend it to all Catholics, especially to members of the clergy.

Create Your Own Class Newspaper: A Complete Guide for Planning, Writing, and Publishing a Newspaper (Ip (Nashville, Tenn.), 11-8.)
Published in Paperback by Incentive Pubns (December, 1995)
Authors: Diane Crosby, Leslie Britt, and Toni Wall
Average review score:

This book is not just for teachers and students.

Have you ever thought about creating your own newspaper? Are you a journalism student who wants the nitty gritty without having to wade through long boring tomes on journalism? Are you a teacher who has to teach a journalism class but you just don't have a lot of preparation time? Are you just someone who wants to get ideas to write about?

Yes, you're pretty bright. How did you know I was going to recommend this book? Anyway, this book is a great resource to have. It's aimed towards middle school teachers who will help students create a student newspaper. I'm not a middle school teacher and the last time I checked, I've already been through puberty. However, I like to write and I like to get new ideas and approaches to writing. This is a nice little book to have around and it's so cheap.

6 year old daughter loves it
My daughter is in kindergarten, 6 years old. Her art teacher noticed her with this book during school, so her teacher recommended that I get it. She is only 6 and seems to trace the horses, but enjoys the pictures that she gets as an end result. I am borrowing it from the teacher now and just placing my order today for it.

Pleasurable text & photos from the Old Maine...
This captivating, informative and fresh volume betrays an excellent working knowledge of the subject. From a lifelong Maine resident who published a tourist guide for about ten years (nearly three decades ago), please accept my sincere thanks. Such an evening of "pure joy" this account of Fly Rod (and those newly-revealed photographs) brought to me! Even 8 months after reading it, I remember with pleasure this account from "old Maine." The volume is still displayed, so guests also can "enjoy the read!"

Glenn Miller and His Orchestra
Published in Paperback by DaCapo Press (April, 1988)
Authors: George Thomas Simon and Bing Crosby
Average review score:

Great Book on Glenn Miller
I've always loved the music of Glenn Miller. Especially being a swing dancer. What makes this book so great is Mr. Simon was there with Glenn and the orchestra, pitching in on drums for backup, and involved in every aspect. He was associated with Glenn during those great years of the Big Bands. His personal way of talking to the reader makes you feel like you were there, too. You become intimately involved in his life, through scores of wonderul photos, diary entries, and interviews with others who knew Glenn well. You also are introduced to many of the band members. After reading this book, I feel like I know not just Glenn, but Marion Hutton, Trigger Alpert, and all the other wonderful musicians who made the most wonderful music in the history of the world.

I used to wish I could travel back in time to the swing era, and witness bands like Glenn Miller's live. Now, after reading this book, I feel like I have.
